Seymore Horrace Knox went into partnership with his cousin Frank Woolworth to open his first five & dime store. The company was based in Buffalo, New York. As interest in postcards grew he expanded into being a producer and distributor of cards. The stores were incorporated into the Woolworth chain in 1911.
