The research reactor in Manila became critical in August, 1963, and attained the full power of one megawatt in August, 1964. At present the reactor is aiding research in such fields as agriculture, biology, medicine, industry and the physical sciences. Scientific activity in the country is clustering around it. The International Atomic energy Agency provided the equipment and three experts.
