The Canadian Olympic Committee (C.O.C.) was founded in 1909, a separate division of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada; it was once known as the Central Olympic Committee. That same year, the International Olympic Committee recognized the C.O.C. as Canada's official Olympic body. The C.O.C. was officially declared independent from the A.A.U. of C. in 1949. The Canadian Olympic Committee helps promote Canadian locations as future Olympic venues, and provides financial and leadership support to Canadian Olympic athletes.

Scope and content
This series consists of records pertaining to amateur athletics, generally, and to the Canadian Olympic Committee more specifically. It contains correspondence, notes, entry forms and information bulletins, as well as Canadian Olympic Committee financial records. Some of the correspondence relates to the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, Germany. Letters to and from C.O.C. officials (Fred Marples - honourary treasurer, Patrick J. Mulqueen - president, and Nelson C. Hart - secretary) are included.
