Scope and content

The 546 newspaper caricatures of the collection picture themes in relation to the League of Nations and its activities with few exceptions. The main bulk dates from the years 1936 and 1937.
Most of the caricatures originate from the English speaking press closely followed by French and Italien ones. The Spanish as well as the Scandinavian and Dutch caricatures are also quite well represented where as the German (mainly from the Austrian press) and the East European countries are rather rare. A few caricatures also come from Non-European countries (China, Argnetina, etc.) even though they form a negligible quantity.
