Tthe twenty-fifth session of the Commission on Human Rights opened at United Nations Headquarters this morning, with the unanimous election of Princess Ashraf Pahlevi. Felix Ermacora (Austria), Hussein Kahllaf (United Arab Republic) and Peter Nedbailo (Ukraine) were elected its three Vice-Chairmen. At the request of Andres Aguilar Mawdsley (Venezuela), who stated that consultations on the matter were still in progress, the Commission decided to defer election of its Rapporteur until another meeting. The session ends on 27 March.
