Barbados today acceded to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Dicrimination. The Convention was adopted by the General Assembly on 21 December 1965 and came into force on 4 January 1969. Under the Convention, States parties condemn" racial discrimination and undertake to pursue, by all appropriate means and without delay, a policy of eliminating racial discrimination in all its forms and promoting understanding among races." A Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has been established under the Convention to oversee the implementation of its provisions.

Somalia today ratified the Convention the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Dicrimination. The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination oversees its implementation.
