Biografie
Dr. Wishart was born on a farm near Guelph. He was a teacher at a rural school and went on to apprentice under Dr. Abraham Groves. He attended Trinity Medical School and the University of Toronto where he obtained his Medical Bachelors degree in 1871. Wishart took postgraduate work in England and Edinburgh and was also a surgeon on ships travelling between the United Kingdom, South Africa, India and Australia. After coming back to London, Ontario in 1875 and setting up a practice with Dr. Eccles, he was among the small group of men that established the Medical School at Western, and was elected Chair of Clinical Surgery in 1883 to 1911. Dr. Wishart died in 1926.
