The United Nations Commission on Human Rights opens its 29th session at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, today. The session was opened b Miss Maria Lavalle Urbina (Mexico), Vice-Chairman of the previous session of the Commission. Mr. Vittorio Winspeare Guicciardi, Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva, read a statement on behalf of the Secretary-General of the UN. The Commission elected by acclamation Mr. Radha Krishna Ramphul (Mauritius) Chairman of its session, Mr. Luben Pentchev (Bulgaria), Mr. Felix Ermacora (austria) and Mrs. Leela Damodara Manon (India) Vice-Chairman, and Mrs. Esther Meneses (Venezuela) Rapporteur.
