The United Nations Commission on Human Rights began its twenty-fourth session at Headquarters this morning, and unanimously elected as its Chairman Ibrahim Boye, Procureur General (Attorney-General) of Senegal. Elected as Vice-Chairman, also by acclamation, were Branimir M. Jankovic (Yugoslavia), Professor of International Law and Rector of the University of Nis; R.C. Quentin-Baxter (New-Zeland), former Deputy Permanent Representative of his country to the UN, and Keith Johnson (Jamaica), Permanent Representative to the UN. As Rapporteur, the Commission unanimously elected Naseem Mirza (Pakistan), First Secretary in his country's mission to the UN.
