An international concert by noted artists from Canada, the Soviet Union, the Republic of Guinea and the United States marked the eighteenth anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as "a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations". The concert, which included an address delivered by the President of the General Assembly, Abdul Rahman Pazhwak of Afghanistan, took place today in the General Assembly Hall at Headquarters.
Seen (left to right) at a reception after the concert are actor Gregory Peck (United States), Mr. Pazwak, Secretary-General U Thant, Nikolai T. Federenko, Permanent Representative of the USSR to the UN, and pianist Emil Gilels (USSR).
