Hungary today became a signatory to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Both instruments were adopted by the General Assembly on 16 December 1966 in resolution 2200 (XXI). When they enter into force, the Covenants will require the States Parties to them to implement the rights and freedoms proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
