Sale of German Arms to Poland - Mr. Harold Nicolson, Report No.85 - Council of Ambassadors considered desire of Poland to purchase 300.000 German rifles - Lord Derby, on behalf of British Government opposed the granting of this request, on grounds of violation of terms of Peace Treaty - French, Italian and Japanese representatives however considered this case an exceptional one, and in view of divergence of opinion, British representative agreed to refer matter to this to his Government.
