Scope and content
Sub-series consists of records relating to planning and development in the city of London. Included are the official plan and district plans as well as records relating to neighbourhood improvement programs, business improvement areas, urban renewal, environmental appraisals and annexations. Also contained in the sub-series are the records of the Urban Development Institute and the Task Force on Development Charges.
Project files for various building and development projects are also included. Projects that were completed during Jane Bigelow's time in municipal politics include the London Regional Art Gallery, the restoration of the Middlesex County courthouse and the Dundas Street East pedestrian mall. Projects that were never completed include Talbot Square, the Horton Street extension and the acquisition of Hockeyland by the city. Included in the various project files are reports, correspondence and other records as well as the minutes and agendas for meetings of the Board of Control and various committees that were involved.
