The United Nations Scientific Exhibition presented as part of the Second UN International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy is now open for the second week. The Exhibit is taking place in a specially constructed building in the Grounds of the Palais des Nations, Geneva. scientists and members of the Conference have come to see the scientific and technical apparatuses that are presented by 20 governments. The general public, consisting often of science students who come with their professors, have shown also a great interest in the Exhibition. Each stand has multilingual guides who can wxplain the purpose of their exhibit with the aid of films, actual demonstrations, models, photos and published booklets.
This photograph shows the special apparatus for the detection of cosmic rays on view in the Italian Exhibit.
