Caption: Canadian Memorial in Sicily - This memorial to Canadians who were killed in action during the Sicilian campaign was erected near the mountain town of Agira. It was hand hewn by Italian craftsmen from Syracuse white limestone and has a super-imposed crusader's sword. It is part of the Canadian cemetery which was not yet constructed. Towering in the background is Mount Etna.
