Scope and content
Beginning in 1946 the Division of Human Rights was responsible for the publication of the Yearbook on Human Rights. The Yearbook contains primarily constitutional, legislative and judicial developments on human rights in the year in question.
In response to ECOSOC Resolution 888 G (XXXIV) calling for the publication of a Guide to National Legal Institutions and Procedures for the Protection or Promotion of Human Rights, the Division collected information from governments regarding national instruments.
In 1969 the General Assembly called upon the Secretary-General to continue to publish, from time to time, the Bulletin that had been prepared in conjunctions with the International Year for Human Rights (1968).
These records contain information compiled by the Division of Human Rights in relation to these publications.
