The records consist of correspondence and General Assembly records on the draft declaration and draft convention, notably with the specialized agencies regarding the international instruments pertaining to the elimination of racial discrimination already adopted. Among the international instruments already adopted in this field are the UN Declaration (resolution 1904 (XVIII), the ILO Convention and Recommendations Concerning Discrimination in Respect of Employment and Occupation and the UNESCO Protocol instituting a Conciliation and Good Offices Commission to be responsible for seeking the settlement of disputes which may arise between States Parties to the Convention Against Discrimination in Education.
