The UN Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, today opened its 12th session at United Nations Headquarters.

The UN Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, which convened yesterday for its 12th session, this afternoon continued consideration of the report by Dr. Arcot Krishaswani, of India, on discrimination in religious rights and practices.

In addition to being Vice-Chairman of this session, in 1956, Dr. Krishnaswami was appointed by the sub-Commission as special rapporteur for the study of discrimination in the matter of religious rights and practices.

Dr. Krishnaswami (India), who is seen here discussing his report, was appointed by the sub-Commission in 1956 as special rapporteur for the study of discrimination in the matter of religious rights and practices. After several years of preliminary work, he is now submitting his final report to this session of the Sub-Commission. At yesterday's opening meeting, Dr. Krishnaswami was also elected Vice-Chairman of the session.
