T. J. Branton & Company was a London based construction and builders’ supplies company owned by Thomas John Branton. Thomas John Branton had been a general contractor and supplier of building supplies, he is listed as such in the City of London Directories as early as 1931. T. J. Branton & Company first appears in the City of London Directories in 1940. T. J. Branton & Company offered builders' supplies, water washed concrete, sand, crushed and graded stone, dump trucks, hauling, teaming, excavating, cinders, asphalt roads and drives as well as equipment for rent. The company operated out of its office and gravel pit on Hamilton Road. T. J. Branton also operated Riverside Construction Company, which distributed and applied Colas asphalt emulsions and offered spray trucks, rollers and graders for rent. Riverside Construction Company first appears in the City of London Directories in 1949. The companies were sold to J. R. Forbes circa 1958. Forbes offered all services under Riverside Construction Company and ceased operations under T. J. Branton & Company. T. J. Branton & Company continued to be listed in the City of London Directories until 1968.

Thomas John Branton (1899-1972) was born in London, Ontario to Thomas and Eleanor Susan Branton. In addition to T. J. Branton & Company and Riverside Construction Company, Thomas John Branton also owned Branton Acres Garden Apartments on Hamilton Road. Thomas John Branton married Margery Frances Jones (1903-1946) in 1929. The couple had one daughter, Frances Eleanor Branton (1930-1994), who later became Frances Eleanor Berg. After the death of Margery, Thomas John Branton married Ruth Ethelwyn Hamilton (1914-1998) in the early 1950s. Together they had one son, Thomas John Branton (1955- ).
