    Administrative history

The University of Western Ontario Women's Faculty Club was formed in 1919 by a group of women who were either wives of faculty members or faculty members themselves. The purpose of the club was to provide the opportunity for friendly relations among its members.
A constitution was formulated, and subsequently modified according to the needs of the group over time, but its purpose remained the same. To meet its mandate, the club organized general and monthly meetings, and encouraged members to join interest groups and participate in social events, and to welcome new members.

The inaugural officers were: Mrs. Braithwaite, president; Mrs. Fox, vice-president; Mrs. Patterson, second vice president; and Mrs. Barker, secretary and treasurer. The Women's Faculty Club ceased operations in the late 1970s, and the U.W.O. Faculty Women and Western's Caucus on Women's Issues were formed in 1980.
