School Management, Health and Discipline Committee Minutes

Series consists of minutes from a committee made up of Trustees, School Board Officials and representatives. Throughout its history, the committee was called The Management Committee; The Management and Health Committee; The Management, Health and Discipline Committee; and The Management and Discipline Committee. The committee addressed staff appointments, dismissals and salaries; new courses and programs; new schools; student discipline; student health issues; and the organization of programs such as Kindergarten.

Item is a progress report for a project, developed by Edmonton Public Schools Department of Research, Development and Information, under the Provincial Government’s Innovative Project Fund. The project was to develop a planning model for a decision-making process that would relate and create accountability for educational objectives to allocated resources. The project was intended to run from 1971-1975, but at the 27 Nov 1973 Board meeting a motion was adopted to terminate it on 31 Dec 1973.

It was prepared by APRA (Advance Planning and Research for Architecture) for the Mill Woods Campus Joint Steering Committee consisting of the Edmonton Public School Board, the Edmonton Separate School Board, Edmonton Parks and Recreation, and the Mill Woods Cultural and Recreational Facilities Association.
