A variety of issues about school sites, employment and student concerns were discussed, some reflecting wartime circumstances.

Series consists of minutes from a committee made up of Trustees, School Board Officials and representatives. Throughout its history, the committee was called The Management Committee; The Management and Health Committee; The Management, Health and Discipline Committee; and The Management and Discipline Committee. The committee addressed staff appointments, dismissals and salaries; new courses and programs; new schools; student discipline; student health issues; and the organization of programs such as Kindergarten.

Comprised of several trustees and a secretary, the committee addressed issues such as concerns/wages of caretakers and workmen, maintenance of buildings and grounds, costs, new schools, additions to buildings, tenders, contracts, accounts, expenditures and community use of buildings and grounds. Minutes are arranged chronologically by year. Most minutes are original. Some are signed by the Secretary and the Chairman.

Series contains the minutes of the Building and Grounds Committee, made up of Edmonton Public Schools trustees. In 1935 the committee became the Property Committee. The committee addressed the care and expansion of buildings and grounds and issues affecting custodial and trades staff. It received monthly accounts from the Building Commissioner, information from the Engineer and Superintendent, and concerns from other parties.

Series consists of minutes from committees whose function was to negotiate contracts, agreements and procedures with employee unions. The committees were made up of Edmonton Public Schools Trustees, School Board officials and representatives. From 11 Feb 1961 to 12 Sep 1968 the committee was called the Sub-Conference Negotiating Committee. From 20 Nov 1968 to 13 Nov 1972 a number of different committees with different members were involved.

It includes the job advertisement in the form of a newspaper clipping and outline of the qualifications and duties of both Superintendent of Plant and Chief Caretaker. Series consists of the minutes from the Property Committee, which was made up of Edmonton Public Schools Trustees with School Board officials and representatives present. The committee was concerned with Edmonton Public Schools sites and addressed issues around utilities, supplies, maintenance, caretaking staff, the use of schools by outside groups, and the renovating and selling of sites.

Also included are an organizational chart and a report by the EPS Management and Discipline Committee urging the Board to approve certain recommendations from the Clarkson, Gordon and Co. report.
