Biographical history
Arnold Josef Rosé was born Arnold Rosenblum on October 24, 1863 in Jassy, now Romania. He was married to Justine Mahler on March 10, 1902 and together they had two children, Alfred Eduard Rosé and Alma Maria Rosé. He established his professional career as a violinist, professor, Concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and leader and member of the Rosé Quartet. In 1939, Arnold fled to London, England with his daughter Alma to escape Nazi occupation. His son, Alfred, attempted to bring his father to the United States up until Arnold's death on August 25, 1946 in London, England.
