    Scope and content

    This series documents the activities of OCO in planning, conducting and evaluating the results of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, as well as James Worrall's personal involvement as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. It consists of Board, Executive Committee and annual general meeting minutes, materials, and reports; by-laws and incorporation; agreements and contracts; internal and external memoranda and correspondence, including with government officials and politicians; initial bid documents; report of mission to Sarajevo; visits by IOC officials; financial statements and expenditure authorizations; management and audit reports; plans and reports to/from various levels of government; agreements with various organizations, including the IOC and government bodies; planning and implementation manuals, including those for volunteers; policies and procedures relating to various topics, such as licensing; and promotional activities and media coverage. It also includes a wide range of subject files dealing with facilities and venues; logo and design theme; sponsors; torch relay; opening and closing ceremonies; city resident concerns; Olympic-related programming, including: Olympic Arts Festival, Calgary Winter Festival Also includes some records of the Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA). Other CODA records are located in Series 2 Canadian Olympic Association and Series 8 Canadian Sports Organizations and Federations.
