A special concert was held today in the General Assembly Hall at United Nations Headquarters to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Human Rights. The concert combines performances by the famous Italian singer Renata Tebaldi, and the New York Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Leonard Bernstein.

The 11th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was marked in the United Nations by a concert held in the General Assembly Hall on 9 December 1959 at 8.45 pm, which was broadcast all over the world. Listeners were able to hear the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of its conductor, Paul Paray, perform the Introduction and Procession from "Le Coq d'Or" by Rimsky-Korsakov, and two dances by Maurice Durufle, as well as Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D. Minor. Famed Violinist Jascha Heifetz joined the orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.

A concert to mark the 14th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was held this evening in the General Assembly Hall at United Nations Headquarters.
Among the distinguished artists who participated in the concert was a group of Nigerian and Ghanese artists under the leadership of Mr. Solomon G. Ilori (standing in front of the microphone). These artists gave a programme of African music and dance. They also played and sang a song of tribute to the late Dag Hammarskjold which was composed and recorded by Mr. Ilori.
