Item is a typed, annotated, minute book for the Chelmsford Valley District High School Board. Trustees included Chairman Cyril Villeneuve, Vice-Chairman Gordon Pirie, S.A. Gauthier, Denis Landry, E.T. Littlefield, N. Mainville, W. Petersen, and G. Pirie. Board affiliations with other trustee associations, conference attendance, teacher upgrading courses, faculty and staff employment, building renovations, supplies, field trips, renting school space to the Blezard-Hanmer High School Board for teaching, changes in the curriculum, smoking by students at a graduation dance, windstorm damage to school building, creation of a playing field at the back of the school, a contract with Canadian Union of Public Employees, instillation of a punch clock and other topics are discussed. Internal correspondence between the school board and the trustees (including a letter with two photostat pages attached concerning the Canadian Union of Public Employees and Chelmsford Valley District Composite High School Board non-teaching employees), a xerox copy of a Disposition of Dispute between the Chelmsford Composite School Board and the non-teaching employees, a certified true copy of an item of business that transpired at a special meeting of the Chelmsford Valley District High School Board on February 24th, 1966 involving Section 89 of the Labours Relation Act section 202 RSO 1960, non-teaching staff strikes, a memorandum concerning unlawful picketing at the school and the need to send letters to ratepayers with a copy of the salary schedule of the janitorial staff, and handwritten notes on lined paper are also included in the minute book.

Series consists of an annotated Ontario Department of Mines Certificate of Mine Rescue Training issued to J.H. Heit of Falconbridge, Ontario in June 1948 by Chief Inspector of Mines W.O. Tower and Superintendant of Rescue Station G.G. McPhail. The certificate signified the completion of mine rescue apparatus training at the Sudbury Rescue Station. Training included hard labour in noxious and irrespirable gases and the participant was required to give evidence of being qualified to care for and use rescue apparatuses in mines (basic training). This certificate includes three seals signifying completion of additional training; The Standard Mine Rescue Training seal (in the colour red) dated 1949 and signed by Rescue Station Superintendent G.G. McPhail, the Advanced Mine Rescue Training seal (in a gold) dated 1951 and signed by Inspector of Rescue Training P.C. Smith, and the Supervisory Advanced Mine Rescue Training seal (in gold) dated 1961 and signed by Inspector of Rescue Training G.G. McPhail.

The letter was a reply to a letter sent by Mulcahey on February 6, 1967 concerning a Ringette Tournament the mayor attended. Hartman, in this letter, congratulated Mulcahey on her work with youth, the elderly, and the success of the ringette tournament. The city crest is included in the protocol section of the letter.
