Item is a log of items lent by Edmonton Public Schools Teacher's Lending Library and is signed by Librarian Bertha McNaught. A list of books and magazines which make up the Teachers' Professional Library is included. It records the lending of the History of Music, maps, and the location of Travelling Libraries within the school system. The Travelling Libraries were designated as Primary, High School, Manual Training and Household Economics. Also included is a 1928 Registration of Speakers in High Schools.

Heating and Ventilation Specifications

Item consists of Heating and Ventilating Specs for two schools not yet built. One school would be located on Block 7, 8 (HBR), which was bordered by 107 and 108 Streets, the Legislature and Jasper Avenue. The second would be located on one of the Hudsons Bay Additions.

Item is memoranda and enclosures sent to Principals from the Superintendent of Schools. The memoranda were directives for the Principals, and the enclosures were passed on to all their staff. This was the primary communication vehicle between the Superintendent and the Principals.

Item is a newsletter initiated by Superintendent Rolland Jones out of a concern to meet a communication need for matters of specific concern to Principals. The newsletters were issued as required with no fixed date of issue. Later known as the Superintendent's Memo : to School Adminsitrators after Rolland Jones resigned. Abstract From School Register

Item consists of class lists for Grades I to VI and Junior Opportunity at Canora School. Each list includes the names of students, their ages, and the number of days they attended each month of 1967-1968. Each list was completed by the classroom teacher. The number of days the teacher was absent is recorded on the back of each list.

Item consists of reports about students in the Special Education classes in Oliver School, Queen’s Avenue School, and Ritchie School. The annual reports for the students in Queen’s Avenue Hearing Conservation Class and Sight Saving Class are included.

Interview with Ed McDougall

Item is a recorded interview with Ed McDougall about school life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He identifies photographs of school mates and teachers. He mentions, but does not describe, the schools he attended namely Edmonton School, McKay Avenue School, Queen's Avenue School, and Victoria School. He mentions teachers, Miss Chegwin, Miss Barker and Mr. Welbourne. He describes his homes in Edmonton. Interviewer is M. A. Kostek. Item is a booklet handmade by Harriet E. Inkster listing attendees of the Nov 1911 Teachers' Convention. Harriet Inkster taught in Edinglassie School District No. 1973 in 1911. She began teaching with EPS in 1922.

Directory of Pupils

Series consists of a single sheet for every class, in every school, per school year. Early years list boys and girls on separate sheets. High Schools are missing from 1964-65. Forms record school, date, teacher, students, each student’s address, birth date, grade, religion and residency status. Information was used by the finance/revenue area to calculate the annual education grant submission to Alberta Education. The lists then served as a directory of students, for the district, for the school year.

The books are a compilation of articles on various subjects aimed at children. Each volume is divided into the sections All Countries, Natural History, Plant Life, Book of Wonder, Familiar Things, Men and Women, Our Own Life, Famous Books, School Lessons, Poetry and Rhymes, Dominion of Canada, The United States, The Earth, Golden Deeds, Stories and Legends, and Things to Make and Do.

Item is a recorded interview with Ed Bell, former teacher at Riverside School (1912-1913) and first principal of Bennett School. He discusses Cadets, Inspectors, and daily life in the schools. He mentions S.A.G. Barnes and Superintendent McCaig. He left Bennett to teach in the Peace Country and describes the move north in 1914. Interviewer is Frank Mathew.
