Item was prepared at the direction of the High School Entrance Examination Board, Department of Education, Province of Alberta. It is a guide for teachers, which strives to bring consistency between the education objectives of Social Studies instruction and the final examination in Grade IX Social Studies.

Item is a booklet written by the Junior High School Co-ordinator at H. A. Gray School. It addresses some of the procedures used in teaching Community Economics. It also looks in depth at three possible topics of study: "Our Car", "Our Insurance" and "Community Planning".
