Music began at Western in 1912 through affiliation with the London and Brantford Conservatories of Music. The arrangement proved unsatisfactory and the Board of Governors terminated the affiliation in 1914. This certificate issued in 1913 bears the signatures of Western’s first President Nathaniel C. James and W. F. Tamblyn who was bursar at the time but later became Dean of Arts.
