Biographical history

Alan Noon worked as a specialist in photography at the University of Western Ontario between 1962 and 2012. In addition, he worked on a number of historical photograph collections such as the Hines and Henry Studio Collections. During the latter part of his service, he created, and contributed content to, The Way We Were series in the Western News.

Custodial history

Scope and content

Collection consists of captioned photographs contributed by Alan Noon to the Western News in a weekly photofeature entitled "The Way We Were". This feature ran from 2001 to 2012. Majority of photographs were originally taken by London Free Press or the university archives (Western News photographers or other images); with a smaller number taken by Noon himself or from private collections. Noon wrote each caption; these are found in the scope and content notes for each photograph.
