Scope and content

The Cronyn Memorial Observatory was one of the first observatories to be built on a Canadian university campus. In 1969 under the leadership of Professor William Wehlau, who had successfully established a separate astronomy department, a new observatory was built to the north of London at Elginfield. The 48-inch reflector telescope equipped with a state of the art high-resolution spectrograph continues to reveal important discoveries in the world of astronomy.
