The Spring Convocation of 1989 featured the complete set of 20 Gonfalons created for the university by The Canadian Embroidery Guild. The Guild was commissioned by President George Pedersen in 1986 to begin the project. Five gonfalons were produced that first year and five more the following year. Over 60 members of the Guild had participated in the design, assembly and stitching of the final versions, which were approved in consultation with each Faculty. Working their magic is l-r Jean McCullough, Francis Taylor and Dorothy Martin.
