Scope and content

During the official opening of the JW Little Memorial Stadium in 1929 dignitaries and players lined up before that first game to be photographed with a cirkut camera. The camera rotated on its base to produce a long panoramic photograph. (Upper) Before the last regular season game played in the stadium on October 30, 1999. London photographer Jason Selinger repeated that same shot using a vintage 1920’s camera similar to the original. Fresh out of long-term storage the camera proved a little fussy and refused to rotate properly. Finally after delaying the game for almost 20 minutes the camera came to life and the photograph proved a great success
