The University Community Centre has had its share of controversy over the years but perhaps one of the most memorable involved a piece of art entitled "Adhesion Wall" by renowned Canadian artist Walter Redinger. Purchased in the late 1960’s it eventually found a home in the stairwell of the UCC because building director Peter Wall felt it would invite comment and discussion. Its artistic merits and original purchase price became the subject of heated debates by the campus community and eventually it was removed to a less conspicuous display area in the Weldon Library.
