The entrance of the 1946 Convocation dignitaries onto the JW Little Stadium field included the new Dean of Medicine Dr G E Hall accompanying one of the honorary degree recipients Gen H D G Crerar. Soon to retire, Crerar was looking forward to exploring a life long interest in photography and in particular the newly emerging media of color. A year later at a special ceremony in what is now Conron Hall, George Edward Hall became Western’s fourth President and at age 39 also acquired the distinction of being the youngest President of any Canadian university.
