Scope and content

In 1965 ECOSOC Resolution 1074 C (XXXXIX) established a new system of periodic reports on human rights. Among other things, the resolution invited specialized agencies to submit reports and to assist the bodies in examining the reports. The records of this file consist largely of the official transmission of such reports from various governments, as well as the Draft Report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Periodic Reports (01.1969).
