Bennett School is named after Strathcona's first mayor and early school Trustee Thomas Bennett, who opened a four room brick school on Gallagher Flats in 1913. The building re-opened in 1981 as the Bennett Environmental Education Centre. Additions were made to the school in 1981 and 2009.
Custodial history
Item transferred to Archives and Museum from Bennett School in June 1984.
Scope and content
Item is a notebook listing students transferring in and out of Bennett School. Students' names, grade-levels, teaches, reason for coming or going, and addresses are listed. Within the front cover are completed Admission Slips used by students changing schools within Edmonton Public Schools.
