The Five Year Program : A Guide for Parents

Item is a booklet for parents whose children are rapid learners and therefore eligible for the five year program. The five year program allowed children to complete the six years of elementary school in five years. The memoranda provided information about schools, students, staff, buildings, departments, curriculum changes, grievances, press releases and meetings. Appendices are included, but not all are on file.

Item consists of handwritten lists comparing teacher staffing in 1923-1924 to 1924-1925 within Edmonton Public Schools. It includes the number of teachers per school including a break down by Public Schools, Junior High Schools, High Schools, Part-Time teachers and Supervisors, the number of students enrolled per school, and it lists the names of tentative teacher appointees.

Information Systems Branch Data Processing Handbook for Edmonton Public Schools

Item describes the information that schools provided to track Student Registration, Enrolment Confirmation, Home Room Attendance, Student Scheduling, Class Reports, Junior and Senior High Progress Reports, and Academic History Records. Schools used Input Reports and the Information Systems Branch used Output Reports. Information was provided by schools on optical scanning forms and entered onto the computer by the Information Systems Branch. This handbook replaces a previous one.

Information Systems Branch Data Processing Handbook

Item is a handbook which describes the computerized services utilized by the Pupil Records System. Through the completion of optical scanning forms, schools provided information about students to be entered in the Pupil Record System. This handbook explains to school personnel which information needs to be submitted and how to complete the optical scanning forms. This handbook replaces a previous one.

Descriptions of technical options offered are included, specifically, Household Arts, Art, Mechanical Drawing, Printing, Woodwork, Machine Shop, and Forge Shop. For students over 16, industrial courses could be taken in Art, Architectural Course, Forge Shop, Gas Engine, Household Arts, Dressmaking, Industrial Chemistry and Mineralogy, Machine Shop, Printing, and Woodwork.
