The Superintendent provides advice and support to the Board of Trustees and ensures board policy is implemented effectively. The superintendent is supported in this work by Assistant Superintendents and the Division Support Team. The Superintendent is also responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, coordinating and evaluating administrative regulations and sound educational and business practices to achieve the Division's Vision, Mission, Values and Priorities.

Scope and content
Series contains files created by the Superintendent's office documenting EPS administration. The files include correspondence, memoranda, copies of board minutes, blueprints, plans, and other material reflecting daily operations. The series covers a number of subjects including matters of curriculum, schools, associations, contract negotiations, planning, government departments, enrolments, teachers, the hiring of personnel, and school construction. Integrity of original filing system maintained.
