Attitudes of Parkallen Residents Towards the Proposed Closure of Parkallen Elementary Public School

Item is a report commissioned by the Parkallen Community League and presented to the Edmonton Public School Board. It was prepared by the Parkallen School Closure Committee and by Western Social and Geographic Surveys, Ltd. It addresses the proposed closure of Parkallen school and the community’s opposition. Included is the questionnaire survey which was conducted in the Parkallen neighbourhood.

Item is the report produced by the Drug Survey Committee within Edmonton Public Schools. Included is the survey and its conclusions. The survey and report were the result of a request made by the Trustees after the Board approved a Statement of Policy and Guidelines relating to the non-medical use of drugs.

Item is report funded by the Department of National Health and Welfare, Fitness and Amateur Sport and by the University of Alberta. The subjects were boys in the Intermediate Opportunity Classes of Edmonton Public Schools. The study provides information on the physical fitness and gross motor ability of the subjects. It also compares two structured physical education programs.

Sinking Fund Trustees Committee Minutes

Series consists of the minutes from the Sinking Fund Committee, made up of trustees of Edmonton Public Schools. The committee met for the purpose of purchasing and selling bonds and securities to build up the sinking fund and pay off the debenture debt. The committee ended on 07 Jan 1947 when the debenture debt was paid off.

Item is a report submitted to the University of Alberta School of Physical Education to fulfill the requirements of the Bachelor of Physical Education degree. Its purpose was to calculate a theoretical running path for tracks of various dimensions, to design suitable tracks, and to compare running times on these tracks. Item is the Annual Report of Edmonton School District No. 7 for the calendar year 1955. It includes a forward by the Superintendent of Schools and a description of instruction, maintenance and building of schools. Also included is a brief report of Financial Highlights. Annual reports are created to demonstrate accountability to the Provincial Government Education department in accordance with the responsibilities specified in the School Act.
