Throughout its history, the committee was called The Management Committee; The Management and Health Committee; The Management, Health and Discipline Committee; and The Management and Discipline Committee. The committee addressed staff appointments, dismissals and salaries; new courses and programs; new schools; student discipline; student health issues; and the organization of programs such as Kindergarten.

The fonds consists of minutes of the D.D 40 Club. The D.D. 40 Club was founded in Edmonton in 1928. The purpose of the club was to promote social activity among its membership, which was limited originally to unmarried women who were members of the Edmonton Public or High School teaching staff. The abbreviation D.D. stood for "Docendo Discimus", Latin for "By Teaching, We Learn", and the forty referred to the fact that the active membership was initially limited to forty people.

Series consists of a single sheet for every class, in every school, per school year. Early years list boys and girls on separate sheets. High Schools are missing from 1964-65. Forms record school, date, teacher, students, each student’s address, birth date, grade, religion and residency status. Information was used by the finance/revenue area to calculate the annual education grant submission to Alberta Education. The lists then served as a directory of students, for the district, for the school year.
