The fonds consists of minutes, financial records and ledger of the Holyrood Home and School Association. The Holyrood Home and School Association was formed in Edmonton in 1955. With a membership consisting of parents of students attending the school, the association raised funds for the school and served as an advocacy group for school-related issues.

Schoof lectured to schools and other groups about his adventures as a Mounted Policeman and about temperance and outdoor living. He also donated a trophy, the Major Schoof Cup, to the district for sports competition.

Community School : Concept and Development

Item consists of three files documenting the development of Community Schools within Edmonton Public Schools. File number one contains Community School concept reference material, chiefly photocopied articles from Jan 1971. File number two (Nov 1979-Feb 1980) examines Community Education Development Centres in North America and includes the job description of the EPS Community School Liaison position. The final file contains information from Mar to May 1980 used by the Steering Committee of the Community School Facility Task Force and includes the Community School Facility Survey.

School Based Budget : Pilot Project Files

These files were created by Alan E. Parry, System Planner, whose position reported to the Superintendent & Secretary Treasurer at the time of the pilot project. Series consists of files pertaining to the development of budget decentralizing known as School Based Budget. The files and responsibility for School Based Budget moved with Parry when he transferred to Associate Superintendent Planning & Development Services in 1979-80. By 1980-81 School Based Budget was implemented district-wide.

The Worth Report
